The office opened bright and early at 8am this morning, but thanks to my wonderful boss, we worked through lunch and were able to leave at 1pm instead of 5pm because of the holiday! Nobody came in today though. I was so bored. I resorted to grabbing one of the extra AARP magazines that we got in not too long ago and taking a look at that, and did find that it had a word search in it so that was entertaining. I pretty much just walked around the office until 1 so I got paid to do not too much today which is always fun. I was able to spend a little bit of time with Adam before he went to work today (he has to work two holidays a year, and Memorial Day ended up being one of them) and then I left at the same time he did to go to Walmart to do some food shopping only to be called by Adam a couple of minutes later warning me of the traffic on 501. I got to see it myself as I was approaching the road and decided to turn around because I would be sitting in that for quite awhile just to go to Walmart. We really don't have much food in the house (therefore explaining the trip to Walmart) which made me try these noodles I bought from there a little while ago which actually aren't bad. Might have to get some again... Anyway, I guess there's always time to go later.
So this weekend Adam and I finally made it to the beach and it was fun. We brought lunch down there and stayed there for about an hour and a half. It was hard finding a place to park by a public beach access but after a little searching we finally found one. We didn't want to go by a pier because that's where all the tourists go so we went down to Georgetown county and it wasn't that bad. There were a few people but not that many. We had our own section of the beach which was nice. I put on tons of suntan lotion while we were there and, of course, about a couple of hours later I realized the places I missed *lol* The back of my shoulders and back of my neck are so red, my right side more than my left. It sucks because at night I can't sleep on my right side and that's the side where the fan is *lol* Oh well, I make do I guess. Adam says it should go away about the middle of this week which is good. Thank goodness I have Adam though because he's able to put aloe on it much easier than I can. We did take some nice pictures at the beach though, mainly all of Adam *lol* I got some nice pictures of him in the ocean and I took a picture of the message I wrote him in the sand. I was putting the pictures in the album yesterday and realized that we only have 8 more pictures to fill the album so I made sure that I have at least 8 to pick from today so that our photo album can cover Jan. 2004 to May 2004. That's 200 pictures for five months (beginning of Jan to the end of May)! That's a lot of pictures, but they're really nice to sit and look at and laugh.
I'm so happy to say that the Carvel in Murrells Inlet has opened! Adam and I went there Saturday after we went to the beach and printed pictures. I got the ice cream Adam got last time we went to Carvel in Pawley's and he got this new flavor which was sooooooooooooo good. He always gets something better than me *lol* That's okay though because we share so we get the best of it all.
Once again we didn't play chess this weekend... One of these weekends we will. Tomorrow I have a dentist's appointment that I cannot forget about. Then I get to go again 3 weeks later. What fun! Adam's birthday is also in June and I'm still undecided about what else to get him for his birthday. There's a couple of things that he wants but I'm not quite sure what to go with. I'm sure I'll figure it out.
Alright, well, since I'm housebound for a little while I think I'm going to make some notecards to study for the DAT's. I'm so sick of studying for this thing. I'm about at the point of just let me take it and see how I do so it's the end of it. I think the big dental school application comes out tomorrow but I don't have all of my recommendations back yet so it can wait a little while. I told them all that it was due June 30 to give them some time so hopefully I get them all by then. I'm only waiting on the two professors from Winthrop so hopefully they'll be able to get around to it by then. It'll be so nice when that's all finished. Then the last step is to wait to hear about an interview, take a look at some practice questions and then go on it. It's so scary! *lol*
Hope everyone enjoys their holiday!
