Accredidation

I was reading this article in the Cosmopolitan magazine that was ultimately borrowed from Amanda about why relationships hit a wall at two and a half years and this sentence just made me laugh:

"According to Cindy Hazan, PhD, professor of human development at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, the brain produces chemicals that create that passionately-in-love buzz for 18 to 30 months. After that time, the chemicals level off and your bond depends more on trust and reliance than romantic overtures."

First of all, this being in Cosmo does not surprise me in the least. Cosmo has gone way down hill since I had my subscription a year or two ago. Second of all, I think that is just the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Granted, her accredidation is really nice and I know Cosmo is not a scientific journal, but the description is just awful and seems unaccurate. From experience, I don't think that's what causes relationships to hit a wall after that time - there are many other factors that go into that equation which the article does talk about but that sentence just makes me laugh. I would love to know how much funding she gets for her research and where it comes from to be making statements like that.

In other non-Cosmo related news, I took my first final today in statistics which I think went well, or well enough to keep my A in there anyway. My next final isn't until Tuesday at 3pm so I've got time to prepare for that one along with my other one Wednesday at 8:30. Is Meghan going to study the entire time? Of course not, and this of course is an example of distractions that will cause me to do non-study related things.

Speaking of non-related study things, Josh and I went out yesterday and had lots of fun. I gave Josh his graduation gift which was a pink elephant (inside joke, has to do with my voicemail) and a Zippo lighter that was engraved on both sides. On the front it says "To my best friend" with the comedy and tragedy faces (he's a theater major) and on the back it says "Happy Graduation. Best of Luck. Love, Meghan." He absolutely loved it (I knew he would) and I got him the fluid and all to go with it. When I went to get it my first question was wether or not I could engrave on both sides because, of course, I have a lot to say. *lol* The lighter also had a grainy-type finish to it so that fingerprints won't show up. I was originally going to go with the polished finish but I know that he would constantly be cleaning it so I went with this other one instead. So anyway, Josh and I went to Concord Mills (which is a very good Study Day activity - has been for years *lol*) where we were able to get Carvel and other non-needed things like jeans from the Gap and whatnot. *lol* We had lots of fun though and then on our way back we stopped at Rusan's which has the best sushi for cheap. You walk in and they're playing techno music and everybody greets you - it's very cool. Anyway, we got different types of maki (two types of tuna, beef, red snapper, and shrimp), I had Josh try escargot sushi (which is very good by the way), and other types of sushi like calamari and onion, and two rice balls. How much was our bill may you ask? $19! Amazing! You can't go anywhere and get all that for that good of a deal. It was all so yummy and so cheap! *lol* I first went to Rusan's with Adam because he wanted to go out for it and that's the place that got recommended the most so ever since then we've been talking about that place. Too bad the beach doesn't have one because that would be lots of fun.

The other day I was so happy that I found a new Tiffany's necklace for such a good deal and that I'd be able to have a bracelet and necklace from there, but then as the day went on I got to thinking that my mom doesn't have anything from Tiffany's so who's getting the beautiful necklace instead? My mom :) I hope she likes it. It wouldn't surprise me if she says "why did you buy this?" because that's just the way she is. Worse comes to worse though, if in the unlikely event a woman does not like anything from Tiffany's, I can keep it for myself and get her something else. I do not see that happening because that Tiffany's blue just makes people smile. Adam said that was "very unselfish" of me and I told him that was "very unlikely" of me *lol*

Speaking of Adam, only six more days until I go home! We were supposed to go out to his sister's graduation at Clemson the next day, but since none of us thought to book a room for then and the closest room we can get is in Greenville we're not going which means we're not going to Winthrop's graduation as well which is okay. Instead we get to stay home and look after the dogs which will be fun. Adam keeps on dreading looking after the dogs but I think it'll be fun. His parents decided to go camping for the entire weekend so they lucked out and didn't have to look for a room, and what's funny is they didn't plan it that way either. Adam said we had the option to go camping but I think we can save that for a later date (a MUCH later date *lol* who knows though, maybe one day the idea will actually appeal to me).

I haven't eaten anything all day so I'm thinking I'm going to do that now. Hope everyone is surviving their exams!
