Just in case anyone was wondering how the City Watch actually works or who's responsible for what, it works like this:
Commander Connor Fitzgerald - The man who runs the entire City Watch. Everyone within the Gulls answers to him.
Captain A (Upper City) - This is the man who runs the Upper City half of the Watch.
Watch Lieutenant UCM (Upper City - Morning) - This is the man who is in charge of the Morning shift of the Upper City Watchmen.
Watch Lieutenant UCA (Upper City - Afternoon) - This is the man who is in charge of the Afternoon shift of the Upper City Watchmen.
Watch Lieutenant UCN (Upper City - Night) - This is the man who is in charge of the Night shift of the Upper City Watchmen.
Captain B (Lower City) - This is the man who runs the Lower City half of the Watch.
Watch Lieutenant LCM (Lower City - Morning) - This is the man who is in charge of the Morning shift of the Lower City Watchmen.
Watch Lieutenant LCA (Lower City - Afternoon) - This is the man who is in charge of the Afternoon shift of the Lower City Watchmen.
Watch Lieutenant Navarre Braonian - This bugger (me) is the man responsible for the Night shift of the Lower City Watchmen.
Under the command of the Watch Lieutenants are an assortment of officers; Lieutenants, Sergeants and Corporals. Last but not least are the Watchmen, your everyday foot patrolman if you will.
Those men who generally make up the Upper City half of the Watch tend to come from the good homes, lower nobility and the like. They are your gentlemen types who move you along from the upper class establishments if you've had one too many. They're also likely to make sure you get home safely if you're falling down drunk.
The men who make up the Lower City half of the Watch are ex-military types and thugs. These men will not help you make it home safely, though they may throw you in prison for a day or two to sober up.
Generally those officers in the Upper City do not have jurisdiction in the Lower City and vice versa. However, given the recent events of late, a few officers have been killed or are MIA. Likewise, given the lack of actual players in the Watch (Hint: Join today and arrest people!) I do try to crossover when I can if the presence of the Watch is needed.
So if you do anything that requires the Watch but you do it in the Upper City, I won't touch it or investigate it unless you ask me too. I do apologise for that but ICly I am somewhat bound by certain structural constraints. That said, if you ask me to, I will get involved so that the Watch is active.
