blah blah blah

one word could summarise my mid-term holiday thus far: yawn.

there has been so little to do, i am kind of half sad i don't have more assignments to ignore and then do half-arsedly the night before.

no, i take that back.

right now i'm just contenting myself with doing little scrappy things for interp (student paper that accepts anything - ANYTHING), usually lists because i can't think of anything to write an article about... a bit shit for a journo student, but they really don't teach enough Original Thought in Print Journalism 201.  I really do want to write something with a bit of meat on it, but I'm really focussed on making my writing market-driven.  I need to keep student interest at the forefront and not write "another boring political piece".  Unfortunately, most of the articles in the paper have a political bent and that's why I think nobody really reads it that closely.  My first ever article was published in the last edition (a guide to all-nighters) and was well-received: I got about four or five people telling me how funny it was - UNPROMPTED no less - and I'm going to submit a list of things science promised me but didn't deliver.  It doesn't really fit in with the theme of "mistakes" but that's just a guide line.  And also the first thing I think of when I hear "mistake" is "children".  Not so great, hey?

on the plus side, i have been watching the second season of Skins avidly, have rediscovered the joy of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and been introduced to the marvellous Green Wing - sort of a British version of Scrubs, but with less drama and more insanity.  And Mark Heap.  And Tamsin Greig.  And that ginger who guest starred in Black Books as Julian the Travel Writer, who is always looking smug on a jeep.  It is seriously twisted, and seriously hilarious, and I highly recommend it.

holiday downer, autumn's here again, mindless scribblings
