Kirin had released her from stasis. It was only a few days, but when she woke up, she felt odd. Diana was dropped off at the Star's End, she wasn't told why. The answer faced her almost immediately. Orion had returned. They found themselves locked in an embrace and holding each other like tomorrow wasn't coming.
They talked for what seemed hours about plans for the future. She teased, "O, do you like picket fences?" "Hardly." A smile threatened to crack on his face. Diana explained that it was a joke of sorts between Alu and Kirin. Kirin was always teasing Alu, telling him that he just wasn't the picket fence type. She promised herself that one day she would ask about that.
She'd acquired a puppy from one of the litters recently sired by Riddle, Rhiannon's Collie. The I want you to meet my Dad thing seemed to go over like a rock. He'd seen Alu before and she had no idea how a face to face meeting would go.
Explaining Kirin was another fun thing, but O took it in stride. Seemed nothing was more important than being at home and being together.
