I have one more day until I am forced to endure the drudgery of classes.  Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy them most of the time, but after receiving my grades for three of my classes I am not entirely thrilled to be starting classes again.  Especially since two of my classes will be continuations of last semester’s classes.  I am hoping that this semester will be much more productive and encouraging than last semester, especially if I can avoid certain catastrophic changes in my life for one semester.  It will make life easier on many people.

I would not say that this vacation has been full of life changing experiences, but I feel I have definitely experienced a few things that I will carry with me for a long time.  Not bad things, but I definitely have more of a direction about my general life now.

My family and I went to Arizona for Christmas.  I think we drove about 3,075 miles.  Whatever the distance was, it was further than if we had driven to CT.  Crazy. Whatever it was, it sure was a long way to drive. I saw family in AZ that I hadn’t seen in almost two years (my Grandma and closest relatives) but other distant family for about 7 years.  Of course, as always happens with Navajos, I was introduced to family that I did not know.  And they were probably my sisters or brothers, grandmas and grandpas.  It was just nice to be home.  And by home, I mean home.  As in the Rez.

* I loved being on the Rez.  I loved the feeling of looking out the window of the car as we were driving and seeing nothing for miles.  Also loved going 80 down the roads…probably the only time in my life I’ll be able to go 30 miles over the speed limit and not be ticketed.  That area is so beautiful!  My family lives at the base of Fishpoint, which is just awesome. Very beautiful.  Here’s proof.

We drove through CA and stopped near (in?) LA (I have no idea where; everything blends together for me, especially since I’m not familiar with the area) to visit family.  We saw my Grandpa on my dad’s side, and also my dad’s two half-brothers, Sam (26) and Bud(dy) (37). It was really nice to see family.  I also spent time with Uncle Bud up at Fort Lewis where he is stationed for New Years.  That was crazy but so much fun.  I got drunk off my ass, but it was totally worth it.

Spent the last week at home with family, and with Jeff. That was nice too.

Hmm…I think I went into too much detail. But that’s just me. J
