so, i admit that i didn't have as much anticipation towards the outcome of the american election as a lot of others have. i had a good feeling that obama was going to win, but didn't quite see how much of an impact it would be, until it actually happened.
i have 2 staff members that are black, and they were both working tonight. at my work, we were watching cnn online all day. and as they announced obama as the winner, they started to cry. they both stopped what they were doing, and looked as if they were in their own world. it felt like it lasted an hour. tears started to leak out of their eyes, and then more, and a little more. mamadou, who i've known for years, who i think is one of the most amazing ppl i know, turned to me, and said, 'from slaveship to leadership' ....... after that, i couldn't help but see how sooo many others were seeing how tonight was monumental to change, to how the world is taking it's steps, no matter how small, towards showing that we are all human..... i followed suit.
.be the change : u want to see in the world.
