I found the series DVDs on sale a few weeks ago and have been working my way through them. The closer I get to the end, the more I dread finishing the series, but I can't stop myself.

It's writing like this that helps fans survive *laughs*

(and convinces them that be that we need another BDM)

Went to bed WAAAY too late last night because I was reading thing. Beautiful tale - the first that handles Wash's 'resurrection' in a way that feels satisfying.

The footage was of four reavers - two groups of two - who had torn through the station in a killing frenzy. Each pair was male/female, and in each pair, the female racked up three times the death toll of her male partner.

That gave me a serious chill - in a good way. Even though we don't see River and Jayne's part there in the story it makes so much sense that River wouldn't have any breaks on what she does there. And I loved that Inara helped calm her down afterward.

Beautiful tale. *puts in memories*

I love this pairing because it's obvious that they really love each other -- and it's also obvious why -- and yet, they still argue and snap at each other, and neither of them are defined by their relationship with the other, and Wash gets jealous and Zoe gets annoyed but at the end of the day they still love each other. I lovelovelove War Stories, where they're arguing over a legitimate cause (and you can see both sides of the argument! Neither of them is painted as obviously wrong or clearly right!) but then Wash gets captured and Zoe gets really... Zoe about it, and then she doesn't even let Niska finish his sentence, she chooses to save Wash so fast. And then! They're arming themselves together to fight and it's wonderful and I love it.

And he's NOT dead [...]
