Take this pink ribbon off my eyes~ [ Personality ] :
Part of what makes Kairi who she is, is her connection with her boys. She was with them as far as she could initially remember, and was influenced by them and their choices. The best example of this would be the choice to leave the Islands in the first place. Kairi seemed content with the place that took her in, and might have been a tiny curious of where she was from, but felt Destiny Islands were home. Riku and Sora both were inspired by her appearance when they were young that they wanted to set sail in search of other places, especially her home. She went along with it, being swept in and trusting that everything will be all right as long as she was with them.
She has a tomboyish streak thanks to the pair as well. She can climb trees as well as any of the boys, and was able to keep up. Her clothes from the first game were likely chosen for her own ease of following after them. She kept them organized and divided tasks amongst them to finish up the raft building pretty quickly. Kairi also can take things as they come, even if it’s snatching up a keyblade and jumping into battle to help a friend, or accepting that another friend has changed on the outside, as shown towards the end of the second game.
Her relationship with the boys wasn’t always great. Because she has the ability to sense darkness, she was rather unnerved by Riku at the start of the story for the first game. She could feel that the darkness was drawing nearer, and Riku was loosing himself to it. At that time, she only brushed away her own concern when Sora assured her Riku was still the same. Part of it had to do with not wanting to worry Sora, and the other part had to do with the amount of trust she had. It wasn’t until Riku had lost her way did she finally realize she still held hope for him. Going as far as saying she didn’t want to leave them, Sora and Riku, once her heart was restore as well as expressing concern for Riku when they got back to Traverse Town. She had asked Sora if it was too late for Riku, and then wanted to accompany him to bring Riku back. When she finally reconnects with Riku, in the second game, Kairi recognized him immediately behind the Ansem Seeker of Darkness appearance. She took a hold of Riku, and wouldn't let him leave on his own again.
Kairi knew that they, Sora and Riku, would return to her through out most of the series. When Sora was turned into a Heartless, not only was she able to pick him out of the little heartless mob, she had faith he would be able to return. She trusted his words when he assured her he’ll bring back Riku whole again. This faith or bond they shared was strong that even Namine had issues fully erasing the chain, only being able to become a shadow of Kairi’s memories, instead of fully replacing them in the events of Chain of Memories. Kairi knew she had forgotten someone important, while everyone else couldn’t even remember there was a boy besides Riku. Selphie even asked Kairi if she was sure he existed and that she didn’t just dream him up. That connection also led to her communicating with Roxas, and finally remembering him. “Starts with an 'S'. Right, Sora?"
Kairi has a playful side to her, calling Sora a “lazy bum” and even joking with Riku a bit. Even if she was the organizer of the group, she would use the excuse of looking for Sora to slack off just a bit. She can be very social and kind. When she met the Twilight Town kids, she gained their trust and friendship in a matter of moments. Kairi is very thankful and kind. When she was rescued by Aqua years ago, she presented her savior with a bouqet of flowers. The Princess of Heart also isn’t afraid of defending herself when able. She managed to give Axel a bit of a hard time, even biting him in the manga representation to escape his hold. Kairi has even bravely shielded the little heartless Sora, deciding that this time she will protect him.
Normally people take for granted their surroundings but Kairi can never get tired of Destiny Islands. She loved the sea breeze, watching the sunsets, sitting on the beach, swimming, fishing and collecting shells. Her favorite color is lavender, since she keeps it on every outfit she has been shown in, with the exception of her school uniform. With the boys being away, she did get in touch with more of her girly side likely thanks to keeping close with Selphie, the only real girl friend she has. Kairi has some artistic talent. She gathered thallasso shells to make a protection charm, and used to draw on the cave walls with Sora.
Kairi is a princess of heart, which basically means that she has a heart devoid of darkness. She is kind, and a bit reserved, especially with the absence of the boys from her side. The princess has also shown signs of holding wisdom beyond her years. She hasn’t always been like this though, and occasionally her old rash, adventurous, and stubborn streak will resurface, especially when Sora or Riku are in danger. She leaped into a fray of Heartless with a keyblade she has never used before just to rescue Sora and was ready to sail the uncharted seas with the boys. When Axel appeared, and the Nobodies arrived on the scene, Kairi had the courage to jump through the potentially dangerous and dark portal to escape.
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
She is a Princess of Heart which means her heart is devoid of darkness, she may be able to upgrade other’s abilities because the other princesses of heart are able to, and she is sensitive to light and dark. It’s been shown that she may be able to help others sense another heart though physical contact (mind out of gutters, loves. Hand contact was all that was made). She can keep darkness at bay as shown when she is able to go through the dark portals the Nobodies use and coming out unscathed.
Kairi may be able to learn magic thanks to being a key blade user, however she hadn’t the proper training as of yet. Her keyblade is called Destiny’s Embrace. She is fairly competent with it as shown when she jumped into the fray of heartless to rescue Sora.
Her friends are both her strength and weakness. She becomes stronger for their sake, as well as puts herself in dangerous situations for them as well.
A huge weakness is she has little fighting experience. She is still very new to being able to use a keyblade.
[ Other Important Facts ] :
There is a protection Charm on her necklace to help protect and guide her when everything is hopeless.
