What a weird day! It was one of those days when things keep happening, and it feels like I have no time to react to something because something else is already coming along. And no choir practice this evening, sadly, that always helps re-organizing my thoughts. Oh well, can't be helped.
Shortly after I came back home for lunch the mail arrived, lots of wonderful things!
It's the Rolling Stones collectors edition for The Hobbit movie. It has many articles, pretty pictures, and two reversable posters. I love the idea of framing the Middle Earth map, I must say. *_____* The other one is the Atlas of Middle Earth, an incredibly detailed and realistic atlas that reminds me a lot of the Geology books for one of my exams back in 2003. Fascinating!
Here's a closer look, open at the page with the Lonely Mountain map. I hope future archaeologists won't find this book, or they'll be very confused indeed.
The other day Tati and I ordered phone charms from
this shop. I chose this cutie patootie Dean and his slice of pie, look at that little tummy, isn't he precious??? ♥
Again, two hours until the next episode of Neverwhere, I can't wait! Today we get to meet the angel Islington, although we already heard him sing yesterday. Absolutely perfect! And Christopher Lee managed to make me like the Earl of Earl's Court (while in the book I found him incredibly annoying). I love this cast. *_____*
EDIT: I had just posted this entry when another package arrived. It was actually one order (except for the phone charm) but Amazon decided to ship it separately.
From left to right, Fun Home by Alison Bechdel, the inventor of the Bechdel test. I read some of her stuff online, and then I found an enthusiastic review of this book and got intrigued. I can't wait to read it! Then, there's the Tolkien Years of the Brothers Hildebrandt, with beautiful pictures, photos and analysis of their famous Tolkien calendar. There's the Complete Guide to Middle Earth (god bless Amazon for being so cheap), an honest-to-god Encyclopedia of Tolkien with marvellous pictures. I opened it at random at Erebor, Saint Augustine would be very pleased. :D And last but not least, Les Miserables, original London recording, with Roger Allam as Javert (and a bunch of other people too, but let's focus on what's important here). ♥
This will definitely turn my next re-reading of the Silmarillion in something resembling a study session for a university exam. :D
