"You wait for a silence I wait for a word, lie next to your frame."

What a day. This morning I went to mom's clinic where her doctor and my therapist told me that, even if her crisis is over, her exams came back and they found out she's infected with three different kinds of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, so they had to move her to the main hospital, where she'll stay in isolation until the infection is over.

Yes, it's completely normal for coma patients. Yes, I've seen it happen before, many times, since I've been in and out oncology wards all my life. No, I'm still not used to it.

I think they got a bit worried when they saw me get all serious. It's my defense mechanism, when I'm scared I turn off every emotion and get completely expressionless. So they started doing some sort of Abbott and Costello routine about infections in hospital, and how they got in contact with many scary killer infections and they were all fine, and then a nurse came by and offered me chocolate. He just heard my voice, didn't know what was going on, but wanted to come say hi and give me chocolate.

It was one of those times when I'm truly amazed at how they are constantly surrounded by sickness and death and yet they stay wonderful and caring. They're amazing people.

Let's end the real life entry with something funny and fandom-related. Here's a picture of my breakfast this morning:

I'll have more news tomorrow, I know in my mind that it is nothing to worry about since the worst *is* behind us, but I won't feel completely at ease until she's back in her usual room and everything goes back to this weird definition of "fine" that our life is.
