This is the stool I bought yesterday at the second hand shop. Here I had already removed the really ew (stinking) varnish and had treated it for a first time with bee wax. Second time around and it's drying now. I love how it's handmade, heavy, proper wood and I think it looks nice and sturdy like that. :)
This isn't any professional work, but I'm not a pro. ;)
Else I simply did some this and that today. Bits and pieces around the home. Later the call and discussion around this month's rune, Tyr, which ended up in quite a discussion because not as much is as it seems with runes. :D Ah the fun. :D They certainly make your brain work!
I finished reading a book yesterday that was part one of a trilogy (I guess, book three isn't out yet and who knows if the author is planning more). It's called Lightlark.
This shouldn't have been a book, yet - this should have been a first type up and THEN worked on properly. The initial idea is very good, but... The story is all over the place. The phrases are very short and abrupt in their content. Like... she asked question so and so. Receives an answer. This is never followed by another question (which in many cases would have been the natural way to go because what the heck are you even talking about?). So it feels like most of the time there aren't any proper conversations but... question, answer. Change of theme, scene, whatever. Because this is how people talk? No?
I think it's a pity, because as said, the initial idea - yes.
Book two is already out but I'm not going to continue reading. I had a peek online if I could find out about the plot just out of curiosity where this is heading. I found it and no, really, no thanks. :(
Ah well, onwards to better reads...
Next week is my last week of working from home - but for Friday when I'll be at the office as we say goodbye to one of our colleagues. Well, technically to two but that one is our good colleague while the other is the dude who didn't really work anyway. And blah-ed about others behind their backs. And so on. So whatever to dude really. Apparently he already has a new job. Well, good luck with him, to that company...
Thursday I have my annual dentist appointment and I had already moved it once but I think I might do it one more time. It just will turn out stressful - I have to stop working sometime 2.00pm in order to catch the train and tram to get to the dentist's and so on. Afterwards I'll be emotionally a zero because... dentist... phobia... ugh. And on Friday I need to look all raise and shine and also work on everything that will be left lying around? I just don't see this happen. On top of that - actually chat to colleagues and have lunch together and all that?
