The next time I'm in a graveyard I'm not going to feel bad for walking on graves.
Last night on my way home from downtown (on foot. it was nice enough to walk) I passed by the neighbourhood graveyard and noticed that one area of the snow had been cleared away so I went in to investigate. Someone had come in with some kind of digging machine and cleared a large space around one of the burial plots and dug a deep 1 foot by 1 foot square hole in the ground. I guess it was for an urn or a really narrow vertically placed coffin.
If the groundskeeper is comfortable driving some kind of backhoe or digging machine all over people's graves then I won't feel so weird walking on them.
Add that to my new year's resolutions: This year I resolve not to feel guilty for walking on graves.
