You better listen up I’ll say it once
Room move at work!
So this is where we used to live. Right at the top of the building, it was absolutely freezing in winter (to the point where I had a blanket and hot water bottle in my drawer).
Apart from the cold, though, I loved it. We were the only people on that side of the floor, so we had the whole of this area to ourselves (plus two rooms through the door at the far end of the photo), a kitchen (which was behind where I took the photo from and was therefore easy to know if anybody was using it before bothering to stand up with your food/mug) and peace and quiet. And I was facing a wall, so I didn't have to look at anybody, and similarly, nobody was sitting with a view of my computer screen. Not that I skive often, or anything.
This is our new room.
My desk is the one you can see the blue desktop on, and chair is the one with the brown coat on it. Jo is the one partially hidden behind a plant. My Ian Somerhalder calendar is on the windowsill next to Heather's desk as there's no hooks on these walls - another disappointing thing about not facing walls! This bank of desks has Heather next to me, Jo opposite her (diagonally opposite me), Hilary opposite me, and Emma on the end opposite the empty desk beside mine.
Jill and Joanne's desks, back to back with mine (yet seem really really far away! Jill has Fridays off and Joanne seemed very isolated!).

Now we have a plus point - we can actually see if Amanda is in her office when people ask us. Before she was waaay around the corner. Another highlight happened late on Friday afternoon - Amanda brought the fridge and microwave down from our old room upstairs and plugged them in the little room next to Amanda's - so we don't have to go into the kitchen for anything other than water now! Hoooooray!! This brightened me up a lot (I had already announced that Friday was my 'I hate this room' rant day and them from this week I'm going to be zen about it since I can't change it!).
The main problem I currently have with the new room, though, apart from having to see people's FACES (ugh! People!) is this:
In this picture I am sitting at my desk. See the random dude at the end of the picture. He is playing FRICKING TABLE TENNIS. In our office! It's bad enough that they played it at lunchtime for an hour - NOISY! - but he and another guy stayed for an hour after they were finished for the day, just to play!
I tried to hide their bats and ball after they'd finally gone, but I think they must keep them in their drawers so that people like me can't do things like that! Boooo.
There was also a 'sales day' in Classified advertising on Friday where the losers of a sales challenge had to run around the floor on a pink unicorn hobby horse thing. This involved running through our office. I can't take it!
I would so take being cold and the extra two flights of stairs over this!
Anyway. Day off tomorrow.
