We had relatives over today so I had to get up - boo! But we saw The King's Speech yesterday and I really enjoyed that. Thanks to seeing that and Black Swan on Thursday, I've now seen half of the Best Picture nominees and should be up to 7 by the time the ceremony is on - and this year we have Sky Movies for the first time, and I'm off on the Monday, so I can watch the whole thing! Woo! Also, a hot guy who was the double of Andrew Garfield served us at the Ben & Jerry's stand so I may have to go back to the Vue, even though we prefer the City Screen as it's both cheaper and closer. Oh well!
Dad is back at work, though he says he's still not really better. He hopes to come to the match on Tuesday as long as I can drive, and has promised to drive to the next two or three to make up for it. Our game vs Spurs on Feb 12th has been moved to a 5.30 kick off for ESPN which has angered a lot of people - both SAFC fans and Spurs fans - because it's only 15 days notice and a lot of people have already made travel plans, which is a fair complaint I think! Plus a lot of people seem to have tickets to see Peter Kay at the Arena that night so they're all going to be late now!
Day 21 → A recipe
I have a lot of favourites. My absolute favourite is the chocolate melting cake from the Carnival cruise that Shirley and I went on - about two years on, they sent me an advert and it had the recipe in it! I made it for Karen and Max once, but it's been a while. I should dig the recipe out, but until I find it, my second favourite will have to do!
(I still think this is a weird question btw).
Mam got me a Mexican cook book for my birthday last year and I'm still cooking my way through it, but this one has gone well for me when I tried it!
Chorizo & Potato Quesdillas:
(serves 4)
350g potatoes
1/2 onion, finely chopped
1 clove of garlic, chopped
200g chorizo, chopped
4 large flour or corn tortillas
400g cheese, grated
1. Cut the potatoes into chunks and fry until tender. Leave to cool a little and then dice them into 1cm blocks. Fry the onion until soft, add the garlic and cook for a further 3 minutes. Mix in the chorizo and potato, turn the heat up and fry for another 4 minutes. Season.
2. Spread a quarter of the mixture on one half of a tortilla and sprinkle with a fistful of cheese
3. Fold the tortilla over, brush it with oil and place in a hot dry frying pan or griddle, cook til golden and crisp. Cut into wedges and serve!
Easy but tasty!
