Well, that was freaky. I was in the kitchen making a toastie to bring up to bed with me, and Mam shouted for me. I wasn't going to shout back from the kitchen to the living room, I figured she thought I was already upstairs so I stopped in there on the way to get my plate from my bedroom from the toastie I had this afternoon.
She didn't shout. She said maybe it was a cat or something, but cats don't shout "Rachael!" in a voice exactly like my mothers! I went back for the toastie and now am locked in my room for the rest of the night until I de-freak! Or go to bed. Whichever.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was amazing, again. There was-
Ooh, Stephen Fry's first episode of Bones!
Ahem. Anyway, there was a bunch of stuff that changed, but the good stuff stayed the same. The flowers coming up out of the floor when it was spring, Aslan coming back to life from the back of the theatre and coming down to the stage through the audience, the big white coats that represented the Narnia side of the wardrobe, the circular stage with the moving staircases...
But Alsan's costume was way better - and he was much more imposing. Clare Foster was SO good as Jadis, much more evil than last year's Witch. And totally different from Avenue Q - if I hadn't already known it was her, I wouldn't have made the connection at all. Her voice was much, much deeper, and very English. It was just fantastic.
Five stars!
