So today at work was weird.
There was a massive accident on the A64 (I say massive - two cars, four casualties, no fatalities, but one was bad enough that they had to land the air ambulance on the road), on our side of the road, about 500 yards before you get to the Travelodge. This happened at 3pm.
Check-in starts at 3pm.
My shift finished at 10.
Guess what time they reopened the road?
9.30.
I had the EASIEST afternoon. So boring but so relaxing! This is what I'm always talking about when I say I love night shifts because it's dead, and I love afternoon shifts because they're in the afternoon, and how I wish all the people would arrive at night time and the afternoon shift and night shift would effectively switch places in terms of busy-ness, and then I could do 2-10s all the time. Awesomeness. I spent the afternoon wandering out to take a look at what was going on, and chatting to people in the Little Chef. There was ONE car in our car park until 9.20pm, and I don't think the Chef or BK had a single customer all afternoon.
And also, our computer went down. lmfao. I genuinely couldn't do a thing!
All I did all afternoon was answer the phone and tell people about how they couldn't get to us, read newspapers and listen to traffic updates on the radio.
