(no subject)
So work is highly stupid. I actually sat on the floor for 20 minutes in a linen room in a HUFF tonight because I couldn't move anything that I had to move. We've got stupid new linen trolleys but being Travelodge, haven't got rid of the old ones yet. The room is full of the 150 new pillows they delivered, plus all of the spare duvets, and for some RIDICULOUS reason, we have 500 bath towels at the moment. THERE IS NO ROOM. And my job is to unpack all of this laundry onto MAGICAL INVISIBLE SHELVES. Uuuugh. Okay. I'm calm.
Til tonight, when I get in a huff again because I STILL CAN'T MOVE.
However, work doesn't entirely suck, because I do get to spend around 6 hours of my 9 hour shift watching TV on my laptop, playing on my DS or reading crap newspapers.
In those newspapers I've found two highly amusing (in different ways) snippets over the last few days. The first, from an article about call centres in the Daily Express.
And, finally, there was this back and forth between a customer and a computer company.
Caller: "Can you give me the telephone number for Jack?"
Operator: "I'm sorry, sir. I don't understand who you are talking about."
Caller: "In the user guide it clearly states I need to unplug the fax machine from the wall socket and telephone Jack before cleaning. Can you give me his number?"
Heee!
And this one, which I can't believe. And I was doubtful, because it was from the Daily Star. But omg, it's a real film! I wonder if they'll actually film it there.
Mischa Barton is set to offend a huge part of the north east of England after refusing to learn a Mackem accent for her role in Malice in Sunderland. The 20-year-old will play Lewis Carroll's heroine relocated to the wearside city but she is confident abotu her preparation. "My Dad's from Manchester so it shouldn't be a problem," she said. It's Dick Van Dyke all over again....
Mischa, Mischa, Mischa. Oh dear. Your Dad's from Manchester? HOW is that remotely like SUNDERLAND? Somebody should let her hear the two accents side by side - she'll shit herself.
