I'm in the library, ahhh, it's like I never left! Got half an hour to kill til my Screenwriting class, which is nice, because my first class let out at 2.30 instead of 4 (it was just the intro to the module so she didn't keep us for long.) so I expected to have ages to kill but I've been talking to Trudi and Christine for ages.
I don't really expect that to happen in Screenwriting, sob, I think she'll keep us the full 4 hours.
Popular Fiction for Young People seems like it's going to be fun though! We're supposed to read any Point Horror book for next week, and as the term goes on we have to read any of the Mallory Towers books, HP and the Philosopher's Stone, Chamber of Secrets, the Secret Garden, Little Women, and Fellowship of the Ring. Plus we get screenings of Little Women (Susan Sarandon/Wynona Ryder version), Fellowship of the Ring, Mulan and X-Men!
I'm going to skip to LotRs week, I think, so that I don't have to read it or watch the movie. Apart from that, I've READ all the books, yay! Plus, the essay question I think I'm going to do is 2,500 words on HP by May 18th.
"For a text to be successful it has to respond to the cultural climate in which it is produced. What are the main ideological anxieties in Harry Potter? Your answer should include analysis of race, gender and class illustrated with specific examples from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets."
