Obsessed Much?

Mar 01, 2006 08:46

I have been contemplating this for quite some time now... but I just can't see why I should have to pay for it.  For something that is already offered to everyone in the luxury of their own home, their car, and in most cases right at the convenience of one's computer.  I practice this habit every morning on the way to work because it's the only time during the week this program is offered and the only time during the week I am forced to be awake at that hour.  This program has been around for many years, why should I have to pay for such a luxury when you already have so much money??

For those of you who haven't guessed, I am talking about the radio.  I was listening to the radio this morning on the way to work and this particular program that I listen to announced that they were going to have 'KID ROCK' as a special guest appear later on in the morning.  I freak!  I call 'Babe' to let him know and hope that he listens and rush to work to find a radio in the building that will get this program at my desk so I don't miss Bob Ritchie with my good pals Bob and Tom.  I listen to Bob and Tom every morning because it puts me in a good mood and wakes me up while I sit in traffic in the mass of US-23 at 7:30 in the morning Monday through Friday.

I rush around the office to find a radio; damn.  Station doesn't come in.  I ask another co-worker hoping that maybe the first radio doesn't have a powerful enough atenna.  Fuck!  Still no signal.  It's going on 8:15 and I begin to panic.  What to do?  What to do?  Do I just suck it as it's probably not going to be much of an interview anyway.  Then it dawns on me, it's not even 8:30.. there's no way that Kid is going to be up this early to give an interview.  I take a chance.  I purchase the streaming audio of Bob and Tom on my computer for $6.95 for one month in hopes that I didn't miss the interview.  Zing, Zang, Zoom... the charge hits my debit card and I'm streaming by 8:20.  "... we'll be right back with an interview with Kid Rock..."  Whew.. I made it.

So, I bit the bullet and purchased Bob and Tom for one month.  A bit obsessed?  You could say that.  But I haven't seen or heard of anything from our pal Bob Ritchie since 2004 and it's about damn time he's getting some air time.  His first ever live album just came out in stores yesterday and I have yet to purchase it.  So, I was so excited when I found out he was doing an interview with my fav radio dudes, Kristy Lee and Chick McGee this morning.

I'm hope he says he's going to tour this year... more details to come.  (After the interview).

bob and tom, kid rock
