My front door is flanked by a tall window, and I have
snowflake "window clings" on it. (Except mine are glittery blues and purples.)
Anyway, I guess I should take them off now. Not exactly chilly out anymore.
When I was painting at my friend's apartment, I noticed she had a couple Clive Barker books, Imajica, and The Great and Secret Show. I was drawn to pick up Imajica, but instead decided to start TGaSS, because I've heard more about it. So now I have to go and buy it on Wednesday, so I can keep reading! Seriously, how have I not read more of his stuff? I read Weaveworld nearly 10 years ago, and bought (and read) The Thief of Always even longer ago, but nothing since then... I really need to expand my library, and read more. My friend gave me a bunch of books, too, and one of them was a Kelley Armstrong book (Industrial Magic), which was cool, since that authour has now been recommended to me by several people.
Dan went off to work this morning, only to return 20 minutes later, due to the TTC strike. So I got to spend the day with him, unexpectedly. Today things were better between us. I still feel uneasy, though.
Tomorrow I am finally going to have my post-hysterectomy/cancer check-up, which is nearly 2 years overdue. (This is entirely my fault.) The doctor who did the surgery will be poking around inside my nether regions, which I absolutely loathe. She's really nice and everything, but still, it's so violating. :(
I expect there will be blood taken, too, which I'm also not looking forward to. Hopefully no biopsy this time, but I'm sure they'll want to schedule one, to make sure the cancer hasn't returned/spread. Oh, for those who don't know, I had cervical cancer a couple years ago (invasive!) and had a hysterectomy to get it all. Found out on my birthday, too. Gotta love my life. Not.
33 degrees celcius tomorrow. Must buy more fans on Wednesday. Including one to clip on to Grizelda's crate, and one to blow on the rats. Here's a tip for pet owners: You can buy those freezable ice packs at a dollar store, freeze them, and then put them on a pillow on the floor, with a light towel over them, (or simply place them inside the pillow case) for your pets to lay on, to help them stay cool. I should make a couple of "ice-pack pillows" for my ratties to sleep on.
That's all for now. More tomorrow, I s'pose.
