It's amazing how at every single fork in the road, every opportunity to keep someone close, a person can do the one thing that will cut someone further off, drive them further away.

Note to Brian and Jill: It was pretty apparent who she was talking about. You two shouldn't fight now, just avoid each other, you'll be better friends for it down the road.

Noggin's correct. Of course I meant you in specific...I also mean other people in general, and some shared characteristics.

Also, I was never trying to *have* an arguement. Also, note, that avoidance only makes an issue go away in one direction. You have succeeded in making that happen.

As a matter of fact, I like cliches. Their frequency of use doesn't disprove their truth, but in fact continuously reinforce that truth. The fact that people dull their senses to it is an occasional lamentable facet of humanity's ability to adapt.

While I agree that frequency of use doesn't disprove the truth of the cliche, I think it's important to remember that often it isn't the ONLY truth.
