Purim? Not yet. Valentine's Day? Too late. Presidents' Day? Also, too late. But plus a very nice living room set and HDTV.
What time of year is it? It's group meeting time! In case you don't know what that looks like in the Khodor Tolan house and surrounding environs, it roughly looks like this:
(Yes, I did just spend 15 minutes cropping and uploading that image. Shutup.)
I would much rather be reading or watching ice skating, or doing just about anything other than this powerpoint. Which needs 20 or 30 more slides than it currently has. And I'm still not home because I'm waiting to load my last experiment for the night. Plus, I'm fighting an increasingly losing battle with a sore throat. It's been sneaking up on me since Thursday. I don't want it, but I don't think it's gotten the message. I suppose that it's time for my annual "February week where it hurts to speak right as I have a presentation that involves public speaking" again, but I'd just as soon avoid that, thank you very much.
So, of course, it is in the middle of this situation the characters from my sadly-on-shelf novels decide to become more vocal. Georgette Heyer, I blame you.
It's not like I need to search for distractions, but this is going to be a late night, and if anyone has anything to cheer me up with, feel free to let me know.
P.S.: Happy Birthday (what's left of it) to
roseandsigil and
transfiguration!
