Well, yesterday I finished Fringe and I wanted to share my feelings about it.
Plot: Seriously the best plot out there right now. It's intriguing, intelligent and very good writing. I really like it. Also, I'm a sci-fi fan, so Fringe is perfect for me XD
Characters: I love everyone. Olivia and Astrid are amazing. They're smart and strong women, but they're vulnerable too. Peter, who everyone thought as bad boy in the beginning, turns out to be one of the best men on Fringe. He's a really good guy, even if he has a dark side, but who doesn't? Walter, someone who everyone should hate because of his past, is a lovely man. Broyles and Nina stole my heart during season 2; I was really unsure about them, but now I trust them.
Ships: I'm a Olivia/Peter, but I like the idea of a romance between Walter and Astrid. They're just cute together.
Olivia/Peter: I think their relationship is my favorite thing about the show. I'm not talking about the romantic side, but their friendship. They're friends before they're lovers and I think that's important. I miss this kind of relationship. I think the last one I saw was Mulder/Scully. I won't even say Booth/Brennan because the present story line destroyed their friendship and I can't see the reason why they should be together. There's no more Booth and Brennan in my head. I know they'll end up together, but after everything they did I think Booth and Brennan lost the meaning of Booth and Brennan. It's not worthy anymore.
Alt!Olivia/Peter/Olivia: I think no one is wrong there. First, Alt!Olivia is not a bitch or a bad person. She's fighting for her side. Come on, if someone invades your territory you'll want to attack. It's natural when someone feels endangered. Walter, even with the best of his intentions, kidnapped the Walternate son and started those terrifying events when he opened the crack between universes. Anyway, she's just 'bad' person as any spy out there. I feel pity for her because she ended up falling in love with Peter. Also, she's terrified because she's practically married with Frank, so now she's in love with someone who doesn't want her.
I'm so sorry for Peter. People said he doesn't love Olivia or he fell in love with Alt!Olivia, but I don't think so. I think he thought Olivia was just opening up for him and showing how she really is without their job between them. I think he thought he was making her happy, that's why she changed around him. Their relationship was different; of course her behavior would be different. We could see he was truly happy when he was around her. I think it's really hard for him to learn everything he lived was a lie and he probably lost the Olivia he fell in love for good. I'm really sorry for him. Also, I can't understand the accusation about Peter falling in love with Alt!Olivia. For God's sake, he can't fall in love with her because he thought Alt!Olivia was the same Olivia he was already in love, just a little bit different because they were together.
Olivia broke my heart. It's just sad her situation. I understand her completely. Alt!Olivia stole her job, the relationship she was supposed to have with Peter, her identity. She took everything. I think I'd hate everything and everyone too, at least for some time. I think she'll come around and be with Peter. It'll take time, but she'll forgive him. Come on, it's not like he did it deliberately and cheated on her with her doppelgänger. He thought she was his Olivia, the woman he shared his life for two years, like he said.
tl,dr; Fringe is totally awesome, Olivia/Peter are OTP and Walter is a BAMF.
