Summary: It was all Sheldon’s fault.
It was all Sheldon’s fault.
“I shall educate you,” he said.
Penny looked at him and laughed in his face. She wouldn’t put up with his shit. Ever. Sheldon glared at her, before he gave her a smile that said “We’ll see.”
And, surprisingly, she didn’t just put up with his shit, she actually enjoyed every minute of it. To be honest she liked it so much that she had chosen to spend Saturday night in his living room, sobbing like a baby.
I’m burning up a sun just to say goodbye.
Penny had never felt like this for anything before. It was like her own heart was breaking through the scene in front of her.
Am I ever going to see you again?
It was like Penny could understand and share Rose’s pain, even if she had never loved someone like Rose loved the Doctor.
You can’t.
Penny felt her eyes burning and her throat clenching as she tried to stop her tears, but the gasp she let out just made them fall. She never got so emotional over fiction like this. Penny knew that, for an actress, she wasn’t really ever so passionate because of a scene. She had thought she just wasn’t an emotional person, even if she enjoyed love scenes. She was wrong.
I…I love you.
Penny could seriously feel Rose’s pain. Watching Rose and the Doctor fall in love twice and connect in a wonderful way made Penny wish to find a love like the one they shared for herself. At the same time, she felt pathetic. They were fictional characters falling in love in a fictional story. Reality didn’t apply to them and the kind of love they shared probably wouldn’t even exist in real life.
Quite right too… And I suppose, if it’s my last chance to say it: Rose Tyler…
And he vanished.
Unbelievable.
Sometimes she hated fiction so much, just like she hated Sheldon.
That’s when she remembered that something was missing there, like Sheldon’s voice lecturing her about the scientific inconsistencies of some stupid detail in the episode.
“What?” she asked when she noticed him gaping at her.
“I never saw anyone cry so much over science fiction,” he said, surprised.
“I didn’t cry that much,” she said defensively.
“You were sobbing thirty seconds ago,” he answered.
She glared at him, but didn’t say anything.
Penny knew he didn’t get why she sometimes cried over a movie, but he was pretty cool about it considering that he was Sheldon. Sometimes, like today, he’d feel sympathy for her emotional display and would pat her back while saying “There, there.” He wasn’t the most articulate or comforting person she knew, but what he gave her was more than she expected. She didn’t have a Doctor, but she had a Sheldon Cooper, and that was pretty damn good too.
