"Yes, well, I didn't mean to be gone for long," she says with a wry look. "Running around the grounds climbing trees was entirely my nine-year-old self's idea, and not at all agreeable to me once I returned to my usual age." She takes a deep breath, trying to even out her breathing. "I'll be fine in a moment."

"Yes." She actually smiles a little at that. It's an expression which is somewhat unfamiliar to her face, but then, Alexis' return to life certainly merits it. "At least in the literal sense." Dr. Abernathy has exclaimed over how remarkably quickly she's healing several times, but it still feels excruciatingly slow to Vera.
