Vera, still confined to bed, sits propped up on her pillows, sewing. She does not own a great deal of clothing, and as the bodice of one of her few dresses was recently destroyed by a knife entering it several times, it needs replacing

*if he's close enough, she is going to cling -- actually, if he's not, she's still going to. it just means she'll probably end up less in bed like she's supposed to be and more in his lap. never mind that moving is ouch.* If you ever do that again ---

No, it certainly wasn't. *shudder* -- I'm going to kill him. Not any time soon, of course. That would be impossible. But I mean to do it.
