Just some random thoughts and reflections I guess. But first off...ok, here goes. I am going to take the plunge, i'm diving in and JUST DOING IT, as Roger encouraged me to do last night. I'm going to go to Gander Mt. sometime tonight and ask if they are hiring. I MUST do something, this is ridiculous and I'm tired of being afraid and hiding ( Read more... )

Mel, I made it through your entry despite you thinking nobody reads your posts when they're so long ;) Anyway, I wanted to offer you some thoughts/encouragements on some of the things you said.

As far as the job thing goes, you do need to get your resume out there. It takes dozens of applications to get a job. Knock on doors, ask for interviews, do whatever it takes! One idea is to go to Superior Staffing Inc., the temp agency I used to get my job. They will take the time to sit down and talk to you about what types of jobs fit your skills. Plan 1-2 hours to go in and fill out an application and stuff. They are located in the same small plaza as Phillips's European, the dessert place you, Amy, and I went to. Their phone number is 475-9600. Call ahead and set up a time to go in and talk to them.

As far as some of the depression you may be experiencing and just general frustration with life, here are some ideas that may help you. Be in God's Word every day, no exceptions. Ask God to reveal Himself to you each day. Only listen to good Christian music. While some secular music is enjoyable to listen to, we want to be listening to musicians whose talents come from God and who are inspired by Him and live for Him. Listen to some good praise and worship and otherwise uplifting Christian music. Go to church and be in fellowship with other Christian believers. Try to find a Bible study to be involved with. In other words, saturate yourself in Godly things. Ask the Lord to fill you with His Spirit each day. When we do things all the small, and even the big things, fall into place. I don't say all this to be judgmental. I have to work on these things as well. I know you have a fear of getting out and going to a church and going to a Bible study. But if you are continually asking God to fill you with His Spirit, He will take those fears away. Let me know what you think of what I've written.
