Are there any reliable remedies for hormonal breakouts besides birth control? I have a non-hormonal IUD for birth control purposes, because I'd really rather not mess with my natural hormone levels.
I wash my face every day with regular old bar hand-soap and it works very well for the majority of the time; it doesn't dry it too much like some actual facial soaps have in the past, and my skin is typically very clear... but it certainly doesn't do anything for me when my hormones shift before/during "that time of the month". I've never bought many acne soaps (I just suffered through it during my teenage years, heh) and my everyday acne improved/went away on it's own, so I don't even know where to begin with the actual-facial-soap search except that I'll probably want something non-comedogenic. (I have combination skin, if it helps anyone give me recommendations.) I just... I'm leery of facial cleansers because they tend to dry my face out too much and it makes my skin worse... and I'd rather not dry my face out with a cleanser and then have to compensate by putting on a moisturizer because the moisturizers I've tried in the past ALSO made me break out. =P
Any recommendations? Etsy? In stores? Online? What works for you? =)
