Wow
Well last night really boosted my spirits. I had so desparately wanting to go to nickelback, staind, and 3 days grace at GM Place, and I did!!!
The full story:
So I get off work thinking about what time I need to go the Cheeze to do that band stuff. I keep on hearing people talk about how their going to nickelback and shit and I'm getting all pissed off inside. So I get on the 97 going home when I meet Kurtis and Kendra. I knew that they were going to Nickelback and asked them if the guy that had their 3rd ticket was still going. They said they didn't know and that I should phone him. So I call him and he says that he's still going. I'm like, "Shit!" So i tell him that if he wasn't going to go, that he needs to call me. He's like, "I'm going." I tell him again, "If your not going let me know." He says again, "Dude, I'm going." I'm like, "Whatever, just call me if your not going."
So I hang up the phone start talking to Kurt and Kendra and they said that they may show up at the Cheeze later after the show. I'm like, "Cool, I see you there then." So I get off the bus and imediately my phone rings. "How much will you give me for the tickets?" Me - "I'll give you $60 and I'll even pick them up from your house." So I run home, get changed, clean up, and run over to pick up the tickets.
So I run all the way to get the tickets and run all the way to the skytrain, and I beat every bus there. Man was I tired. SO everything was going smooth until I hit mid-way through the Millinieum line. Someone had jumped on the tracks. So I wait there for 15-20 minutes, and by this time 3 Days Grace was half way through their set. So I get to the Commercial and all the drunk people, holy shit. Old people, young people, kids. All drunk!!! Everybody was hitting on everybody, so creepy!
So it only took like 20 minutes to get into GM Place, but I had already missed 3 Days Grace. Pissed off with that. So I meet kurtis and kendra and we go spend 10 bux on a fuckin burger and fries and then head back to our seats.
"The Shows"
Staind was wicked, but kinda hard to listen too. I think the sound techie was a litte slider happy. It was extremely loud at parts and then quiet at other times. When they started playing "Outside" the lighters were lit and the weed burned. Not enough to hotbox GM Place, but that would be later as Nickelback took the stage.
I wish I had a cam recorder when I went there, but it would never have made it through security. Well Nickelback took the stage around 9:15ish. Then GM Place was hotboxed. So fucking awesome. They played about 20 songs. It was so fucking awesome, best concert to date.
So the concert ended around 11 and then thought about going to UBC but then I was really hungry and I didn't know why. So we wetn to McDicks and then we almost fell asleep. So we decided to go home. Got home around 1 and crashed.
