I guess I'm a little late in welcoming the new people. It's been a little busy at home, though.

So welcome to everyone that just arrived. My name's Fujioka Haruhi.

Oh, I bet you're Japanese, aren't you? There seem to be a lot of people from Japan with online journals, doesn't there?

Yes, I live near Tokyo. You're a friend of the wizards', aren't you?

Oh, yes; I'm a witch. I'm at my fifth year in Hogwarts just now. You're a Muggle, then?

Do you know what an "okama" is?

Yes, we don't have wizards and witches in my fandom. It sounds really interesting, though.

Yes.

I don't understand how Muggles can get by without magic. How do you manage?

Could you tell me? The skorty person isn't, because he wanted to know if I was a lesbian.

I manage just fine.

It's a man that dresses up in women's clothing.

Isn't it awfully inconvenient?

Thank you. He's just told me that, too. Is that a common thing among Japanese muggles?

Not really. We've never had magic so we only know how to do things without it.

About as common as anything is, I suppose. I couldn't really give you a fair opinion on that since I've always been around it.

Oh. I suppose that makes sense. You just don't know any better.

Oh? Are you an "okama" too?

I wouldn't put it that way.

No, but my father is.

Oh, don't worry. I'm not prejudiced.

Oh! My father edits an important magazine.

Are you sure about that?

Does he? What's it called?

...Do you think I am?

Yes! It's called the Quibbler, and it's full of important facts that the public should know.

It sounded that way.

Like what?
