I don't buy anything by Clairol because they're owned by Proctor and Gamble so you're still supporting animal testing by buying their products. Just FYI incase you didn't know.

Although, if I can find a product that I *know* is biodegradable, cruelty-free and does not contain animal products, I'm still going to choose that over something made by a company like Clairol.
Also, just because that product is not tested on animals, the ingredients may be or it may even contain animal products.

I was thinking about selling MaryKay and I came close to it but then a representative sent me a brochure about this month's promotions for independent sales consultants and they were giving away pearl necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. The methods used to create cultivated pearls is cruelty to animals. They insert dirt or slit a hole in the mollusk or oyster around the secretion area to stimulate secretion of pearl making substance. This is cruel, for the sake of making money out of something they see as beautiful. Just another way to turn a living life form into some kind of robot. I guess to pearl cultivators, these sea creatures were just put on earth for the benefit and exploitation of/by humans. It sickens me.

I've been using Nature's Gate shampoo and conditioner. It's biodegradable, cruelty free and says on the bottle, "Made without animal byproducts".
For cosmetics, I use Mary Kay or Revlon. Both are cruelty free.
