Spotted Spinach

I bought a bunch of spinach leaves at the grocery store last week. I went away this weekend and wrapped them in paper towels to keep them from rotting- as they would have if I'd left them in the plastic bag- while I was gone.
Yesterday I wanted to cook with the spinach but when I took it out I discovered little spots on some of the leaves. Is this mold? I assume I should avoid eating these particular leaves, regardless of what it is. Is it safe to eat the leaves that don't have these spots on them, or must I throw away the entire bunch?
