i used to have issues falling asleep and would be awake in bed for hours because of monkey mind. now, i'm able to fall asleep extremely quickly but wake up 10+ times a night. once i awake, i switch positions thinking that will help (it's also a constant not-comfortable-enough feeling) and can usually go back to sleep in a few minutes, but it's never a deep sleep and it's taking an awful toll on me.
all in all, it's been over 4 years since i've felt well-rested. the only time i've woken up feeling well-rested was after taking benedryl (got desperate a couple times in college when nothing else was putting me to sleep) and after taking oxycodone after a back surgery.
melatonin does nothing to help me stay asleep. exercising two hours before bed does nothing (experimented with that.. i usually just exercise around 6 hours before bed). warm shower before bed does nothing.
what else can i try?
