I started taking Black Cohosh for hot flushes (flashes in the USA) about four months ago. It seems to have really worked for me, I rarely get them any more and if/when I do, the symptoms are nowhere near as severe as they used to be.
Recently a colleague told me that you should only take Black Cohosh for six months at a time. I've tried to find out more about the accuracy of this information but I've had no luck. Her explanation was that it makes you very cold if you take it continuously over a sustained period of time. I stand to be corrected but this seems a bit vague to me. Does anybody else know if this true and if it is, what are the reasons behind it?
