It was probably a month and a half ago that I tried OCM for the first time. I knew that my face would get worse for a couple weeks and I was prepared. What I was not prepared for was this:
My chin has been prone to pimples since high school. In particular, I get a giant bump that may develop a head, or it may not. After careful washing for a few days, the bump considers receding into my flesh again. Gross, but otherwise good, because in its own way it is manageable.
On day two or three of OCM (castor and jojoba, btw) I noticed the bump that was, at the time, quite minor, had gotten bigger. It had also solidified. When I pinch it I can tell that there is a bottom to it, it's not just a swelling. I stopped OCM, because foreign entities masquerading as pimples are not at all what I want from my skin care experience. It is weeks later, and this bump has not gone away. It shows no sign of decreasing in size, either.
I was at Super Supplements yesterday browsing the soaps. I saw one that was made largely of tea tree oil and I liked the look of it, so I bought it. Huge mistake! Now I have another of these spots on my forehead. My forehead is not usually a problem area so there had been nothing there before, and then after one shower with my new soap there came a huge lump! It also has no head, and believe me that I have been picking it apart trying to find one.
I had used tea tree oil in dabs on my face since trying OCM, particularly where the skin was red, and it seemed to help.
What is going on?? Why are these unearthly lumps forming on my face? Is this a known phenomenon connected to harsh oils? Should I see a dermatologist to find out if I'm allergic? Will they ever go away? That's my real question. My face hasn't been properly smooth for years but it's never had discernible objects projecting from it before.
