I took my 2-year-old dog in for her bi-annual comprehensive exam today, and long story short, I ended up leaving the office with a bag of 30 dental chews for tartar control ( Read more... )

I just dehydrate sliced sweet potatoes and my pooch's teeth--and my pocketbook--have never been healthier XD

How interesting! Is there a special apparatus needed for dehydration, or is there a method for gadgetless people?

I use a Nesco dehydrator--but you can do it in an oven set really low (like, 200)!

I don't have a dog, but I am really intrigued by this idea of dehydrated sweet potatoes. So you slice them raw, and then end up with something like thick sweet potato chips? And people can eat them? (I know normally you cook potatoes on higher temps, but dehydrating is for a much longer period of time, so...)
