I've been slowly changing over to using homemade natural cleaners and I've been very please with them. I'm coming to the end of my Fabreeze bottle and not sure what I should use instead. I use it about once a week when I change the bed linens. At that time I spray our mattress down and also do the pillows, armchairs, and couch. It's main use is to eliminate any odors.
Is there a natural way to replace this other than using incense/candles to mask odors?
Thank you!
Edit: I started using Febreeze because my husband is an excessive sweater and I noticed a slight odor in our mattress. It's a trait that runs in his family. I mainly spray the chairs and couch out of habit I suppose, and because we have cats. So I mainly need something for our mattress. Thank you for the comments so far.
Suggestions I found most useful:
domestinatrix &
blowtorch_betty I do this all the time for pretty much anything made of fabric that can't be tossed in the washing machine. Use really cheap, unflavored vodka, and 0 - 50% water. Shake it up a bit in a spray bottle, set the nozzle to mist, give your target an all-over spritzing, and let it air out. The alcohol will actually kill the bacteria rather than just covering up the smell, and will evaporate off so that you won't be left with a bed that smells like a bar.

Best way to get smells out of cushy surfaces is to find an herb you like, I use lavender, and mix the dried herb with baking soda and sprinkle it around on the surface, it makes a bit of a mess, but it works. Let it sit for an hour or so (the longer the better) and then vacuum it all up. It sounds like voodoo but it works! the baking soda absorbs the bad odors, and the lavender sticks instead!
Thank you ALL for your comments & help! :)
