Three weeks ago I injured my foot, it has turned out to be a bad sprain, I've been in a walking cast with no weight bearing for three weeks now and have 9 more weeks to go I found out today after looking at my MRI.
I work as an outdoor educator so this puts me in the office laminating and the like, also I deal with seasonal depression normally but my main "therapy" is getting outside and going for a walk or going skiing or horseback riding. However, with my injury I can't do any of those, and I am a little more down because well, not walking stinks, and my foot hurts.
So, I have 2 questions:
1. Any tips on healing a severe foot sprain (its a really uncommon injury I know) I'm in a walking cast with no weight bearing and am doing the typical RICE, but any natural supplementing I can do would be great.
2. Any helpful depression tips when I can't be out taking care of it the way I normally do? I guess its injury based depression. Or even just tips for getting out, I mean I work with a bunch of skiers, hikers, and rock climbers and they are my social network and friends so not being able to go out with them means I am alone at home baking a lot.
I know on a basic level these things are in the memories but I am looking for more specific ideas and tips, If this isn't the place to be asking please delete.
