Essential oils: frankencense

I'm looking for a good source pure essential oils. (I know some are diluted, but I think I'd rather buy something not diluted so I can avoid comparing concentrations vs. price.) I'm looking for frankincense. Recommendations? I can comparison shop through Google, I know, but I thought somebody might have a personal recommendation or know of a ( Read more... )

I almost exclusively buy my EO's online through Samara Botane, www.wingedseed.com, there oils are all 100% EO, unadulterated

Unfortunatly 100% pure does not always mean unadulterated. I always look for the Latin name of the plant on the bottle along with the origin of the raw materials. . .

Aha. Thanks for pointing out the distinction between purity and an oil being unadulterated. That makes sense.

100% pure essential oils should not be diluted and should always come with a warning to dilute if used on the skin.

I personally like the Auracacia brand of essential oils. As far as I know they are the only company in the industry that tests every batch of oil to make sure that there are no added solvents. Unless a company is making all their own oils, (which is extremely hard considering that different essential oils come from different areas of the country) they have to rely on the grower being honest with them. Auracacia doesn't take that chance, they test the oils chemical composition to be sure that it's pure.

Here's the link for their frankincense. They have pure, and cut with jojoba. You will probably have to buy direct, because most retailer don't stock the higher priced oils. (Some retailers will do special orders for you, like Whole Foods Market, but ordering direct might be easier...)

Thanks for the info.

It's interesting that they are considered to be over distilled. They have suppliers worldwide. It is hard to believe that all of the suppliers over distill their products. Also I would think that the testing they do would catch that. I wonder how she is aware of the over distillation?

It's so hard to know what to believe, because there are so many opinions on the subject of any natural product.

I like Oshadhi oils, and Wyndmere as well. :-)
