The one size diapers are really bulky which means clothes don't fit as well and you often need to dress your baby in one or two sizes up. It looks funny too, but isn't too big of a deal. The larger size means they are harder to take out as well (takes up more space.)
Oh, mine also did not fit on my baby at all at first -- the middle section that goes between her legs was just wayyy too big. So I was only able to start using them at around 3 mos.
One size fits all is really one size fits most. Usually one size diapers won't fit your baby until they are on the pudgier side of 8 lbs. And yeah, even then, it's going to be bulkier than a multi size diaper. Also some one size diapers won't fit your older toddler as well if at all, so if your baby is late with the toilet training, they'll likely grow out of it. And it really depends on the brand. Most of the more expensive one size diapers fit a wider range of babies.
My kid is 9 lbs 11 oz and his little chicken legs are -still- too skinny for my one-size diapers! (Good thing I went nuts at a second-hand sale and bought a bunch of different cloth diapers!)
Yeah, that's why I was saying they have to be a pudgy newborn to fit into one size diapers. My first baby was probably 8 weeks before she fit into them.
