i am wondering about this, and figured one of y'all smart mamas could tell me. what is parchment paper (the kind that comes on a roll for baking) made from? i use a good amount of it weekly b/c i do all our baking from scratch, and often make lower-fat versions of treats that would otherwise stick to my pans. is it tree, or vegetable, or something else entirely? can i compost it? is there anything in it that would be bad for my compost? or that can leach into the baked goods my family eats?
