i was looking on anita roddicks web page and came accross this and was disgusted...im not a big soda drinker but i definately will not be purchasing any coke products...
I don't really get why they'd need Indian ground water to make soft drinks - what's wrong with using filtered tap water or whatever? This does my head in!
Also, I'd bet this water is also used for bottled water, since Coca Cola and Pepsico own many of those bottled water companies (and no doubt they're all much the same anyway). I don't have a reference at the moment, but I've heard it said years ago that the bottled water industry is pretty destructive as well. Then there's the plastic bottles it's stored in....
And you can't win with filtering either, since the best filtering system, reverse osmosis, is wasteful (wastes about as much water as you get out of it). Now I just take my chances with the tap.
coca cola's plant in India is where they get and bottle their Dasani water. i dont know what the pepsi bottled water is named. i dont get why people are so crazy about bottled water. ive read test that theyve done and found that tap water is cleaner then some bottled water!
