[Action]

[It's been a hard few days for N. Well, it's been a hard few days for everyone, but N in particular has been keeping especially to himself, cleaning his (numerous) wounds and hobbling around on crutches as well as he's able to. His whole body is stiff; the lacerations he'd sustained from last month's insanity left him nearly unable to ( Read more... )

[Maya is passing through the park and enjoying the scenery after a particularly long shift at work when she spots a young man seated under a tree with what looks like a cat curled in his lap. Unable to resist most things furry, she makes her way over to him and smiles brightly, seemingly unaware of any possible infringements on personal space.]

How cute! Does he have a name?

[N looks up, a little bit surprised at being approached at all. His injuries keep him from bending much in her direction, but he does manage a small smile.]

Just Purrloin. I am surprised he's so comfortable with me; we only spent a very short time together back home.

Sometimes the length of time doesn't matter. If an animal makes a connection with someone, they remember that bond for a long time to come. [Yeah, she has NO idea what Pokemon are.]

You must have made quite an impression on him.

You didn't think there were many animals who would want to be with people? Most domestic pets love their owners, so long as their kind and care for them properly! There are, of course, always exceptions...

[She frowns. She's not a fan of animal abuse, and has seen a few instances of it in her time.]

...It's the exceptions I worry about. People shouldn't be able to just treat other creatures however they want to. It's horrible.

[Purrloin, apparently giving nothing even resembling a damn about N's worries, rolls over onto his back and looks at Maya, head upside-down on N's leg.]

I agree with you. It seems to be rare, but that doesn't make it any less terrible.

[She smiles down at Purrloin.] He seems like a friendly fellow.
