- I love to hate David...and he probably does deserve to go die in a fire for half the shit he pulls in the series (Hello Saddler), but he's a very interesting character anyways. He takes the bad characteristics of almost everyone on the team and holds the world's biggest magnifying mirror up to them, you know?
- Marco/David/Rachel baby! ;) With a side of Taylor/David in some dimension of Hell.
- ...David seems to have had a good relationship with his parents, right? In a 'and even Hitler was nice to his dogs' kind of way.
- I think that he wanted to dominate Cassie 1) because that would affect everyone on the team somehow because she's their frickin' moral compass and he's The Bad Dude and 2) to stick it to both Rachel AND Jake. Since it seems to be a popular opinion that there should have been a Marco book covering David, I'm simply going to second that.
- He would have been more than just a short term villain - would be willing to switch so many filler books with more David 'what about when the bad guy isn't an alien but is one of us' books.
- There must be more Rachel/David(/Marco) fic in the world. *nods*

...Sadly I have to cop-out on James, because the little I know of him is almost 100% from fandom - I had stopped religiously buying every single book by the time he came into the series, so I have almost no connection to him canon-wise.

I never thought of that. I mean, for Rachel of course, but you're right, he did it for the rest of them too.

ULTIMATE DAVID SOLUTION FOUND. God, I really am an awful person for putting that gif with this character, but internet was letting me down on rat!gifs and I figured you'd see the humor in it. ;)

I had a couple in elementary/middle school, but after the second one died I didn't get any more. I swear the ghost of the first one haunted our TV room for like three years afterwards, though. I kept hearing her sneeze . . .

She seemed pretty apathetic, really. I think she was hanging around because we kept her in the freezer until the second rat died and then buried them both at once. I don't think I've heard her since.

We still made angel food cake on his birthday for a few years (like we always had) actually. ;)

Yep! I think she was specifically trying to get my attention, actually, because once when we went on vacation, the neighbor who was supposed to be taking care of her accidentally left her cage open and we just could not find her, and later that day I was sitting on the couch and then I heard her sneeze. Turns out she'd made a nest under the couch. And then after she died I kept hearing her sneeze in the same room, sitting on the same couch.

D'aww. That's sweet.

I just cannot stop staring at that gif. Who knew David could be so adorable?

Oh, hell yes. More Auxes are always necessary (I typed "Axes" there by accident, then thought a couple more Aximilis wouldn't go astray - one to stay with Tobias and keep him from jumping off a branch, another to go home and be covered with glory and start a Cinnabon franchise on the homeworld. And a third to just be awesome. On that note, have you read this fic, "Animorphs Dementia"?
