State of reflection

This weekend has been a turning point in many things. I have come to realize things about people that I wasnt always willing to see before. And it wasnt a bad thing.

Friday night was so nice. Tacos (compliments of cooking by Andy and Jenna) and margaritas were wonderful. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing while Andy, Jenna, Desiree and I played Clue. Windrunner was in the other room playing Everquest, at least I hope thats what those strange noises were :P. It was great to just hang out with friends, some new, some old and have a very low key night. I left fairly early and went home to bed after confirming plans for Napa the following morning.

Saturday was an abosolute beautiful day. The weather was so nice and while there was a delay in the start of the trip to Napa, the drive was great. I had a chance to catch up with Jenna and fill her in on the whole job mess. Somehow we ended up taking the wrong highway and going around Clear Lake instead of Lake Berryessa, adding an hour to our trip, but the company was good and the scenery was amazing. It was very nice to be able to just talk or enjoy a comfortable silence. Also, thanks to Jenna, I have great new music to go find. She always has wonderful stuff.

The wineries, as always, were great. Clos Pegase had some great art work, one of the prints literly jumped out of the rack and into my hands, begging me to take it home. As of sometime next week (when I find the time) it will hang on the wall once I find a frame that matches. I am such a sucker for art prints. I need a big house just to decorate with all my favorites.

We tried a new (well new to the boys - they are all still new to me) place, Freemark Abbey. The chardonney wasnt bad, I brought home two bottles. Speaking of, I need to chill one of them. Then we went and tried a place that specializes in Champange. Mumm Wines was good, but we seemed to be getting to places right before everything closed. No time to really enjoy much of the atmosphere at any of them.

Last stop was to Merryvale Winery. I broke down and became a "Profile Member". So, now I have reason to buy a wine rack (YAY! More shopping.) Its really funny, had you told me even six months ago that I would be a member to a wine club, I would have laughed at you, now I absolutely love the stuff.

We grabbed some quick dinner before splitting up and heading home.

Today, I slept. It was great. Its been a long time since I stayed in bed till after 12:30. I did get up once at 8:00 and talked to Rich. Then promptly went back to sleep. After being woke up by ringing telephones, I did get motivated enough to go hang out with Andy and play Tetris while doing laundry for a few hours. BTW, lvl 15 just sucks! Damn game. :)

Dinner with Rich finished out the night and now I need to go to bed. I am glad everyone is home, safe and sound, where they belong and another weekend was survived. I hope this week isnt as long as last week was. Maybe I will find the time to write in LJ before next Sunday rolls around again.

One last note. Estrondo Congrats honey!!! I cant wait to see pictures and I am so glad you and Logan are doing well. I am sending hugs to both. Take care and welcome to the world, Logan. You both are loved!
