My new roommate, Leslie, and I both have a birthday within a week of each other. We get along famously and decided that with her work schedule, we needed to do something last night to celebrate. We were going to join Shellie and the rest of the group from Regent Broadcasting for a premier showing of "Elf" but because the radio station ended up giving away too many tickets, Les and I gave ours to some other people and decided to go to the casino and have a little fun on our own.
So I picked up Leslie at the station on my way home from work and we headed home long enough to get out of the skirts and into jeans. Then we headed to the bank to cash Leslie's check and decided to grab dinner first, before heading to Oroville. Dinner was at Casa Ramos, where thanks to Leslie and her big mouth, I ended up with a sombraro on my head, a rubber chicken on my plate and whipped cream all over my face. We had a great time and had the entire restaurant laughing and joining in our our celebration. As we were leaving, the waiters ran out to the parking lot to give us hugs and tell us to come back soon.
So we get to Oroville and to Feather Falls casino. After losing on the slots, we wandered towards the bar to have a beer. Since it was "Ladies night" we decided that we really should stay, just in case our ticket number was called. After all, winning $500 could prove to be very profitable. :)
The bar had a live band playing and they were actually pretty good from what we could hear, so we decided to go sit at the bar and play video poker while we listened.... then we happened to look up and all Leslie could say was "OH MY GOD! He is HOT!!" Following her gaze, I too had to admit that yes, yes he was. The lead singer and the lead guitarist were both pretty great eye candy. Two ladies sitting next to us were also enjoying the show and laughed at our reactions. During thier first break, the band made the rounds, getting requests and whatnot. The guitarist, Jerry, came over and had a drink with us in 'celebration' of our birthdays. We had some fun with him and they went back on stage, and much flirting was had. During the second break, Frank, the lead singer, came over and spent his break with us. Les hooked him up with some information on how to book in Chico. Then he noticed the tattoo. So a discussion of the fact that scorpios just rock was had. Frank's birthday is the day after mine (ie, the 9th) and so we had to have a shot to celebrate this weekend.
We stuck around till about 11:30, finished our beers and then headed home. On the way home, we decided that perhaps we should spend a weekend in Reno soon. Also, we are tossing around the idea of going back to Oroville tonight. If anyone feels like joining us, please do.
