what makes them think that anyone would enjoy spending half the day freezing in a bookstore? if i were to freeze in a library, at least i'd have a chair to curl in and read, but a bookstore? all there is to do is stand till your legs grow stiff and stare at rows of overpriced literature wrapped in plastic with the price tag cunningly pasted right on top of the back cover blurb.

i haven't set foot in a bookstore since last year, um, when was that? i think it was the time when my siblings dragged me out to see monsters vs aliens. i don't get it. my family, they drag me to watch kungfu panda in a cinema packed with noisy kids when i'm sleep-depriven and freezing to the bones, they drag me to watch bolt when i'm yet again sleep-depriven and feeling grouchy because we wasted hours sitting around idly, waiting for the screening -- whyyy do they never take me to see the pixar film on the silver screen??

but i digress.

it had been over half a year since the last bookstore trip and i... well, i can't say was itching for something new to read -- there's still a whole stack gathering dust on my bed, waiting to be ploughed. there were however some books i was looking for, only i'd, uh, kinda forgotten the title and the author... but maybe with several hours of browsing, maybe i might remember what they were, or who knows, i might even find them on the shelves! so on a whim to that effect i decided that what the heck, it sounds crazy, but let's do it. i was also feeling guilty about giving the last few x visits a miss (we didn't go to the second place though...).

anyway. i exaggerate. so there were some unwrapped books for browsing that i perused to while the time, and then there were others that i could only stare at the cover. uuu. the thing about tachiyomi-ing is that in most cases i'll never see the end of the book, and that's kinda agonizing for someone who's determined to see anything and everything through to the end. i could buy it, only that i'd already found other things to splurge on first: in this case it was Salinger and Murakami. well, it's high time that i learned more than the title and author name. the last time though, brother was kind enough to buy the book i was tachiyomi-ing for my birthday. if i'd knew he'd do that i would've picked up something more thicker, more expens... nah, i'm happy with it. still haven't gotten anywhere past the part that i left off at the bookshop though.... ahahaha..... *sweatdrop*

fortunately, the trip that would have lasted, like, seven hours was cut short. instead i got to spend the rest of the day putting up with the little brat and high school musical. and from there it was destination x.

乗り換えって初めての経験?たいしたことじゃないけど。
でも駅で迷った人の気持ち少しわかるような気がする。
迷ってなかったけど。アヤメも一緒だもの。

i was amused to see that Beckii Cruel girl turn up on the local news. yaru naa... i couldn't hear what it was about over Shaun the Sheep tho. heh.

so, Sakamoto Aya was a finalist in the last anigura, eh? hee~ sokka sokka.

um, still can't decide whether or not to go see May'n in concert. standing is no problem... after two hours of standing in the bookstore, i think i can handle this. i'm just not sure if it's worth it for someone who's not much of a fan. i do wish to show my support, so that hopefully other japanese (anison) artists might follow suit, but... just not at the expense of someone else's hard-earned money. i *still* haven't worked up the nerve to ask permission to order vol.2 -- i don't even know how i'm going to procure the upcoming vol.3, which is gonna cost double... x_x

anyway, i wonder how the turnout will be? in the case of Minorin, from what i observed, there were actually a lot of empty seats at the back that they got the enthusiast ticket holders to fill -- i sorta felt cheated, but i blame myself for not asking in the first place.... in any case, i hope May'n's does better.
