My possums are released!

Release could not have gone better. They came out of the aviary and played in the trees like they have been doing it all their lives. Here are some photos of pre release and release

Wobble pre release (look at the size of his balls they are bloody huge)

Ecoli in the possum box

Staph the fat ass eating out of their box

Stepney concentrating hard on navigating the ropes. What we do is put ropes up from the cage to nearby trees so they have an access point and do not have to come to ground. They climb very well on ropes.

Wobble hanging from the ropes

Ecoli checking out how he can get down from the aviary

Wobble on the ropes

Stepney out in the forest, she was such a small possum and finally grew really huge, so proud of her. She came down from the trees last night and sat on my shoulder and had a cuddle.

Ecoli trying out the soap bush, something ringtails generally dont eat but they try everything anyway.

I didnt get any pics of staph releasing because she cowered in the back of the cage not knowing what to do, eventually she came out and sat in a tree. I'll get more pics tonight of them.

I am so proud of how well they released and how confident and non stressed everything was. They had the best time in the trees playing. This morning I'm going to go check the aviary and see if they have slept there or not and make sure they have enough sup food for tonight. They will be getting sup fed until they stop coming back as we use soft release to release all our animals.
