Endless quarantine
One of the things that this year brought is a virus called COVID-19 that is causing a global pandemic. And I thought that 2020 was going to be an amazing year! lol.
Of course in this bloody country where I live, and with the most corrupted political party back in the power, they saw the perfect opportunity to finish taking away the few rights that we had left. The government announced a strict quarantine in March, closed the airports (too late) and didn't let anyone go out to work (unless you were a doctor, nurse, policeman, etc). Our country is paralized since then, and they are ruining the privates companies not letting them work but making them to pay salaries, taxes, rent and every single bill that a company usually has to pay. By law they don't let companies fire any worker even if the company get broken, and they are using the money of our taxes to give help to people who before quarantine were not working, not studying and keep having a lot of kids.
My mother had a restaurant for 20 years, she got broken under the quarantine because they don't let her open the store, so now all the employees can suitlaw her. She still owe a lot of money to the store landlord, to the government in taxes, to everybody... 4 months with the store closed were enough to make her broken and force her to sell everything that she has. In the way, she made me broken even when I own nothing. One of their stores was on my name even when that business was not mine and I never got a cent from it. I am not sure if even selling everything she will we able to cancel all those bills.... I have to be glad that I still have a job and I get my salary even when we aren't selling so much. But in this country I have no future at all... people will keep voting corrupt politicians just to get a social plan and get some money without work, and I won't be able to have anything if my mother don't cancel that fucking bill on my name. The stress and depression that I have because this situation is more that I can hold. I am upset with my mother because she could avoid to end so broken, she could close the store on my name but my sister was working there and getting all the money like if she was the owner (and not paying the taxes on my name), and my mother convinced herself that my sister won't ever be able to get another job. She also didn't want to admite that the store numbers were negative because my sister was taking money from it.... what happened when my mother got broken? my sister got a new job in few days, offered my mother help to sell the things from the store so mom could get money to pay to employees, and when my sister sold few things she kept the money for herself and didn't give it to my mother. I am so fucked up about this situation that I don't even have energy to feel angry, who cares about me or my mental health? if the stress of all this shit was not enough, I worried about my mother, she is depressed too, hurted because my sister's behavior, afraid of not being able to pay bills, broken and alone.
After 4 months we will continue under quarantine, barely going out just to do groceries once at week and never before 6 pm because it is dangerous since they released many convicts using the virus excuse, so now we have higher criminal rate. We had very low virus cases the first months because they ran few tests. Schools are closed, most of the stores too, we have to instal an app on the phone and get a special permission to can go outside, and to use the train you have to ask him for permission and book a seat. What we don't have is a plan to go through the quarantine and to can leave it, so people got tired and the stores that didn't get broken yet started to open few hours at day. All those people that only lives from social help, they never stayed at home so government had to isolate many neighborhoods. While our country was about to fall in default, our great politicians felt like making a major reform of the judicial system that is not a priority right now for them can control judges, so we will spent millions and millions for them to can ensure impunity.
They don't let companies to pay in dollar to foreing providers, citizens only can buy 200 usd at month, whatever we pay in dollars, even netflix or spotify we do an a very expensive exchange rate (1: 98.15) , they won't open airports until end of the year if we lucky, they tried to regulate home office and ruined it with useless laws, the inflation is 42.8% and the unemployed rate is 10.4% The government said that it's time for we all to do sacrifices and be supportive then decreased the salary of retired people but didn't decreased the salaries of the politicians. Meanwhile our President said that he misses Chavez and that Maduro is not a dictator. The virus is the least of my worries...
